Learn more about my experience

I am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC #8318) approved by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (NCBLPC). She provides individual services.

I utilize an integrative approach, working together with clients to create a plan for finding relief from their emotional pain or distress by selecting from a combination of   CBT, Psychodynamic, and   Existential theories. Mindfulness skills, Motivational Interviewing, DBT, and Informed care techniques may be drawn from in order to meet your unique needs as a client.

Multifaceted career experiences have allowed me to work with a diverse population of clients, their families, and significant others since 1995. Her current practice is focused on individuals, and adolescents who struggle with a wide variety of life challenges ranging from life transitional issues: separation/divorce, unemployment, and career/economic-related distress, to depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, persistent mental illness, personality disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

My career experiences included five years of providing emotional and supportive counseling with hospice patients and their families, as they faced end-of-life issues, loss, and provided grief (bereavement) counseling. Opportunities to gain experience in the treatment of memory disorders and other issues related to geriatric clients and their loved ones. Jennifer’s work in a community mental health clinic, in hospital psychiatric units, as well as group residential settings provided the unique opportunity to experience a deep understanding of mental illness, diagnosis, and treatment.
